About me
Who am I?
Hi, my name is Anastasiia and it's nice to meet you!
I grew up in a small city in Ukraine. I was always very creative and active kid: I attended art classes, dance classes, tennis classes, gymnastics. And I was very good at some of them. But I was good in math as well, so decided that the best way to secure my future is to connect it with math. In the age of 17, I moved to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. I graduated from the University and got “Applied Mathematics” Masters degree. Despite that I really loved math, I was feeling that I have lost some part of myself.
When I started?
That’s where I started photography. First, I was taking photos on my old iPhone. When my husband saw some of my photos, he decided that I need a better camera. So, he presented my first camera, it wasn’t very expensive one. But it was what I needed! I learned how to take photos professionally: not only using automatic mode, but what are the differences between manual, shutter-priority, aperture-priority mode. I learned how to use them and when. I took a lot of pictures on that camera all over the states. And decided that I have enough material for my first exhibition to see if other people would like my work. We organized it Watertown public library Art Gallery and I even sold few art works there!
I didn’t want to stop on that. I was feeling that it isn’t enough, I have to move on. I liked to take pictures of buildings and nature, but I need to try something more. Encouraged by the early results, I started to search for the clients. It was not easy, because I didn’t have a portfolio. So first photo shoots I worked on enthusiasm and I almost didn’t make any money. But I did one work, then second, third…I got good reviews and now after 3 years of working and doing photo shoots I can say that I’m a Professional Photography. I'm using professional equipment and software for photoshoots and for post-processing and editing.
What I love about my profession?
I love to capture kids happy faces, their emotions and purity. I like to convey the atmosphere of the wedding, the love that is in the air, the first kiss, first dance. To summarize, what I love in my work? I like everything!
